Growing up in Southern Italy (aka Mafialand)
I enjoyed the benefits of a lush mediterranian lifestyle, but as a teenager I longed for change. During my student years in Catania, I spent the summer months working as a career flyer on Camden Towns Bridge in London. By this point I had developed a love for punk style, so my sexy mohawk haircut brought me a lot of attention. I optimized this opportunity by charging people who asked for a photo 1£ per picture they took in the far of 1995.
Once I got my diploma in Catania, I continued to further my studies in Law.
By 1996, the big club scenes I had experienced in international cities like Dublin, Amsterdam & New York, had a huge impact on me and inspired me to expand my career in music which I already loved so much. In 2000, I had the amazing chance to spin my CDs on the gothic floor of the oldest Alternative club which is still running known as Slimelight, London. This is the moment where I lost my virginity as DjAri – I am forever thankful to the owner Mak Ma Yuan that contaminated me musically during the early phases of my post punk/industrial time in London.
In between the kick off to my extensive music career, I finished my law studies in Sicily . Of course , I kept spinning my alternative tunes in all the available clubs on my island so I could keep expanding my passion.
